Goodbye pine, hello sycamore! This light wood pairs well with walnut, replacing the original pine versions of the CLIPSTICKS, hand made magnetic clothespins with a rubber band hinge.

This past summer I worked with The Design Studio for Social Intervention to redesign their website, with the goal of creating a more accessible place for the studio to update their projects, reach out to fellow thinkers and share ideas.

Just in time for back-to-school, a collection of desk products that will make you happy to sit down and get to work!

The new TABLET STAND is a handmade, triangular stand for your iPad or other tablet device. It's sturdy but discreet, made of poplar and finished with tung oil.

The CARD STAND, shown here in 3-D printed acrylic, is a smaller cousin of the TABLET STAND, made to perfectly fit your own business cards or your collection of favorites from others.

CLIPSTICKS! Magnetic clothespins that you can stick to the fridge or to a metal pushpin to keep reminders, notes and pictures anywhere you like. A new take on the classic clothespin, this redesigned, handmade version uses replaceable rubber bands for color and utility.

And...the FLAT FILE is back! Now in ice blue in addition to dark brown, this flat-pack design saves space in transit and looks great on or below your desk in laser cut birch plywood and organic cotton. No more nasty filing cabinets!

I've been working on an "ideation station" for the Design Studio for Social Intervention's PUBLIC KITCHEN project, which will involve really fun ideas and a magnetic chalkboard to make for a very appetizing brainstorming session. I was inspired by (and utilized) symbols from The Noun Project's free and downloadable online collection. The above universal symbol for s'mores was created by yours truly.
For the NeighborWorks convention they are attending this week in Los Angeles, the Design Studio for Social Intervention asked me to help design their Deep Greening tool for urban planners. The group will be using the tool to lead an exercise that looks at LA's Pershing Square and the various ways to approach a green redesign.

NY Gift Fair with AmDC

Last month I brought the FLAT FILE to the NY International Gift Fair to show with the American Design Club booth. In between meeting some great designers and getting lost in the gigantic Javits Center, I connected with some great shops across the country (and in Canada too!) who will be carrying the FLAT FILE. Look for it soon at Neat in Toronto, Millesime in Philly, Stonehouse on Cedar outside Chicago, and online at Home Remedy.

NY DESIGN MEET-UP

There are still a few spots left at this wednesday's NY Design Meet-up with a great line-up of women designers: Judy Ross, Tina Roth Eisenberg and Sandy Chilewich, talking about having a design business while having a family while living in NYC (whew).
